Springboard Sunderland Trust started in
December 1975 as a joint project between
Community Service Volunteers (CSV)
and Sunderland Borough Council Social Services Department. The original
plan was to provide work experience and training for young people
interested in a career in care under the Job Creation Programme.
Since then Springboard has grown into a large and vibrant organisation
with excellent premises, and facilities across the north east in
Sunderland, South Tyneside, East Durham and Hartlepool in the Tees
Valley. At Springboard we create
opportunities for people to achieve their educational, employment and
personal goals. In 2003 more than 2300 people worked and volunteered
with Springboard in the north east.
