Upstream Communications is the design & print department of Springboard. As a graphic design apprentice you will design and produce artwork using the latest Apple Mac technology and software including QuarkXPress, FreeHand, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. You will produce real work for real customers, working to their requirements and deadlines, whilst developing your creative skills. You will also learn how to do digital printing, folding, stapling, laminating, binding and photocopying. The apprenticeship qualification comprises an NVQ in Desktop Publishing, Technical Certificates and Key Skills.

You may also get the opportunity to go out on placement. Your time at Upstream will give you all the relevant experience to gain full-time employment in the graphic industry or give you a start into further education.

What will you do?

• Work with the latest Apple Macintosh Computer Design Technology

• Use state of the art specialist design software

• Produce a variety of artwork for real clients
