Springboard East Durham was opened in September 2004 and is situated on the North West Industrial Estate in Peterlee. The site compromises of seven fully equipped training rooms, one of which is dedicated to the delivery of skills for life.  We have a specialist computer suite containing up to date computers with the latest Microsoft® Office™ software.  All our training rooms have fast and easy access to the internet.  We also have a state of the art motor vehicle work shop with lifts, wheel balancer and tyre changer, this was funded by the Coal Fields Regeneration Trust.

 

Springboard East Durham also provides a living skills area which comprises of a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine and dryer and all learners have access to this facility.  There are shower facilities and a large disabled ablution area with toilet and shower facilities.

Child Care Apprenticeship

 

We deliver the Children's Care and Learning Development CCDL qualification at level 2 and level 3.  You will be placed in a working setting usually a nursery and the qualification will last approximately 14 months.

 

Bronze National Navigation Award

The Bronze National Navigation Award is a 2 day package of theory and practical navigation skills.  On the second day an assessment on learners ability to navigate and use the skills and knowledge that they have learned will take place.  If they have been assessed to show these abilities they will be put forward for the award.

This is an excellent award to compliment the Basic Expidition Leaders Award, Duke of Edinburgh and will also be useful for those in or wishing a career in Youth Work, Work Based Learning, Sports, Scouting and for teachers wishing to do low level walks with pupils.

The cost for 2007 for the 2 day course is £40 per person up to a maximum of 10 in a group and a minimum of a group of 5.
